Dance 10 Youth Ballet Ensemble's "Santa's Work Shop"
I would like to welcome you to the Youth Ballet Ensemble and/or the cast of “Santa’s Workshop”. I am sure it will be just as rewarding and successful as last year’s show. Please read the following to help answer any questions about “Santa’s Workshop”.
The show is tentatively set for the weekend of December 2nd-4th at Wethersfield High School (Specific Dates and times TBD). I will let you know as soon as I have this information. Dress rehearsal will be on one day and two shows will be on the other day (either Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday or Dress Rehearsal on Saturday, Saturday evening performance and a Sunday Matinee performance). Rehearsal schedules will be posted with the cast list online at www.dance10studios.com by Thursday evening at 8pm. It is required for all Ballet Ensemble members to take two ballet classes and a pointe class per week. Other cast members are required to take at least one ballet class per week. ALL REHEARSALS FOR “SANTA’S WORKSHOP”ARE MANDATORY! Regular rehearsals will start the end of September. Ensemble members cast in a solo, duet, or small groups (3 or four dancers) are required to learn their parts from last year’s video. If you do not own one, there will be a video sign out sheet at the studio. You may also use any free space during the week at the studio and the DVD player in the waiting room. All dances must be learned by the first scheduled rehearsal for that part. Please work with the other members of the group to learn the dances. If you have any questions please ask Misty.
This is a division of the Dance 10 Touring Company which means it is a non-profit organization. This ensemble and Christmas show relies solely on fund-raising, donations and a small fee that the participants will pay. This is only the fifth year for the show, so keep in mind more costumes and props must all be bought this year. We want to make the show bigger and better each year! There will be a participation/costume alteration fee of $25 per dancer. All ensemble members will have to do their part in fund-raising as well. This pays for the upkeep of old costumes, purchasing new ones, renting scenery, and renting a performance space. This fee is due by the first rehearsal. Please make checks payable to Dance 10 Touring Company and please hand all checks to Misty first so that they can be accurately kept track of. In addition, ensemble members are all required to go to local business and sell at least 5 ads for the program. You will be given a packet the first day of rehearsal. Feel free to purchase a personalized ad for your favorite dancer. This is also a great way to advertise your own business. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you so much! I’m looking forward to working with the talented and eager cast of “Santa’s Workshop”2011 our 5th Anniversary ~Misty
